Garden Rain Gauges
Rain, though most take it for granted, is among the wonders of nature. It can be caught and collected in rain gauges and pots, in fountains and in urns, and it nourishes animals and plants alike. Rainfall is so important to your plants that you should take into consideration the amount of rainfall in your garden's area before choosing plants. Even if the rainfall is not ideal for your favorite plants, you can often find a way to work around it. For example, heavy rainfall can flatten delicate flowers, but dense trees can offset the force of the rainfall and protect the flowers. Very little rainfall can make large beds of red impatiens an impracticality, but it can also cause the flourishing of a large bed of red cactus blooms. Wet, rocky ground can ruin the roots of daisies, but nourish a thriving community of narcissus bulbs. Just be creative; there is always a way.
